Style that lasts with Etsy

According to stats the average woman owns 21 handbags and buys a new one every 3 months! That sounds pretty crazy to me and really made me think about owning investmentment pieces, spending money on something that has been made well and will take you through season to season, year to year and is only going to get better with age!

This brought me to Etsy Uk and an introduction to one of their handbag makers Kaysha Omole from KayK Goods, Kaysha makes the whole bag from scratch in her London studio and involves you in the design process, this service is so personal and you can make tweaks to the product that will suit the way you will use it. The bags may be handmade and last a lifetime but they do not carry that hefty luxury handbag pricetag, what’s not to love!

I decided on a backpack called the “Charlotte” and was in contact with Kaysha via email throughout the design stages. I chose the leather colour options and decided to go with a tan body, brown straps and my initials added to the front for that extra special personal touch. All of her bags are made from the highest quality vegetable tan leather which ages so well and just looks better year by year. This will not be a fast fashion piece but something I will cherish forever and use daily.

If you are thinking you would love to get your hands on a similar treasured piece head over to my Instagram @style_mum for a chance to win your own handmade bag up to the value of £500! You will be able to pick from a range of Etsy designers and will get the same experience I have had.

Etsy are one of my favourite sites for sourcing unique and handmade items. It’s an online community housing many different sellers from clothing and jewellery to that perfect wedding gift. I love their back story…founded in 2005 in a Brooklyn apartment!!
