A little late with the fashion week post but I have been hitting blogging lulls with the throngs of a hectic life, working full time and being a mum of twin boys who seem to be taking part in every extra circular club going, meaning my life runs 100 miles an hour!
I wanted to fill you in on my highlight of September’s recent London Fashion Week SS16 collections, the Orla Kiely ready to wear presentation.
As per usual Orla set the scene and and made her presentation moving art playing homage to the to American photographer Slim Aarons, retro Lilly Pulitzer, and The Stepford Wives! The show’s name “It’s a Birdie”gave a clue to the theme! A stunningly sunny Florence Room at London’s RIBA was the stage for an indoor miniature golf course and beautiful it was! Models in muted summer pallets strutted past plastic poodles, picking a golf club to try and score a hole in one!
Orla always delivers when it come to fabrics and patterns keeping in tune with her well known 70’s retro style. I can honesty say that I would wear many of the styles of the spring summer collection and look forward to seeing it available next year.
